Recommendations for Volkl Auras?

I am really interested in the auras as my next set of skis but am not really sure about what bindings I should get. I am 5'3", weigh 120lb; I ski pretty much everything (trees, pow, steeps, moguls) and everywhere (Crested Butte, Steamboat, VT, ME, and Chile). I would say I'm not crazy aggressive, but i don't shy away from much. I also want something that I can grow into too (i'm only planning on skiing more every seasonsmile.gif). Any thoughts about what bindings i should get and any tips as to what I should be looking for? Thanks!

Welcome to EpicSki!

There are some great options out there in the range you would need.

The first few that come to mind are the Look PX12, and Marker Squire.

Have you demo'd the Volkl Aura?

When ski testing this past year I found a ton of great skis in that category that really wow'd me.

Skiing is Fun!!!

My daughter is your size and weight, and skis the 163.  However, she is a former racer and skis FAST and hard.  You might want a shorter ski.

The 2012 Auras are different design, with a bit of early rise in the tip and a tad softer tail.   IMHO they made the 2012 Aura better than the old one without alienating the women who love(d) their Aura's.

so after looking at the marker squire, are the 110s too wide for the auras? and for the look px 12, what is the difference between the px 12 jib and the px 12 jib micro heel? or is there another i should be looking at?

good to hear the auras have just gotten better!

The PX12 Jib is a little bit lighter, the micro heel is more like a race heel, which is a bit better binding but you are not likely to notice the difference for your intended use.

Re: Squire....I wouldn't hesitate to put the 110 wide brake on that ski, although if you find a deal on the 90mm wide version, you could have the brake bent to be wide enough.

Hope this helps.
