Trying out a pair of Scarpa Tornados that come with a stiff black tongue and a softer white tongue. With the black tongue on its a real struggle to even get the lowest (toe) boot buckle locked onto the widest setting even without my foot in the boot! The white tongues are bit easier but it would take a lot of force to get the buckle past the 2nd latch. Is this normal?
The boots are quite snug, a shell fit shows about 15mm at the heel and a couple of mms at widest point which seems to indicate a good fit once the liners are baked.
Does anyone use the white tongues in preference to the black for skiing or are they just too soft, the buckles have a much narrower range than any other boot Ive tried but this is my first pebax boot. Will the boot stretch much in normal use, I didn't think so but at least being pebax its not supposed to stiffen much as the temp drops. I know these boots were pretty hot with the TGR crew a few years ago so hopefully someone still has fond memories.
thanks for any advice
