K2 Aftershock & Volkl AC50

I recently was lucky enough to pick up a lightly used demo set of K2 Aftershocks. My issue is I have read over and over again how spectacular the Volkl AC50's are. I may have a chance to do a trade for the AC50's and give up my Aftershocks and now I'm torn. I have never demo'd the AC50's and have no real experience with them. I will not have time to demo the AC50's before the trade is possible.

I am 5' 10"  190 lbs and I ski fairly aggressive. I ski groomers, off-piste, and some powder. I'm between an intermediate and advanced skier but I mostly run blacks and a few blues when my wife wants to slow down.

Any advice? Thanks!

LOL, where have you been reading how spectacular the AC50's are? popcorn.gif The Aftershock is probably the best frontside K2 offered in over a decade and a more versatile ski than the AC50 especially once you get into softer snow and powder.

I've seen a few great reviews on the AC50 as well as the Kendo and the AC30.

I'm strongly considering keeping the aftershocks since there I know they ski good and give me a true all-mountain ski.

Thanks!

I have skied all of the above, and liked them all.   AC50 vs the aftershock, here goes,  AC50 is stiffer and is a bomber ski, it turns on a dime, it's on the stiff side (we weigh the same) .  IT IS NOT A ROCKERED SKI THIS YEAR, THE K2 IS.   (AC 50 will be renamed next year with rocker in the tip and tail, thats why I said that).     The K2 is softer and tore up everything, not quite as bomber at high speeds but you won't notice it unless you ski the AC50.   Now if I had to choose between the AC30 and the aftershock, I think I would buy both, lol!    You have a great ski, keep it and sleep well my friend.

Thanks. That seriously helps me in my decision to keep the Aftershocks.
