Erin Sun:

Guys, anyone willing to talk about how to make videos? I really want to create cool video to record my life in London and share with my parents in France.

Besides, what software can I use to make a youtube video and share it on YouTube with my friends?

The most important thing for making online video is that you get a camera that records in 30 progressive frames per second.  Interlaced frames do not translate into online video very well.  Other amounts of frames per second also don't work well for online video.  Sony Vegas is the best cheap editing program and is a little complicated to use.  With Sony Vegas you can use a camera that records in 60 progressive frames per second then remove every other frame or stretch the 60 twice as long for clear slow motion.  It's kind of complicated though like I said.

^^ Yep, 60 FPS is required for good slow motion, otherwise it just looks choppy.

Mpeg4 is what you want to render to if you're not recording in it already... and if you're not recording in it already, then avchd is what you should record in (because it is a type of mpeg4), but you need a powerful computer to edit it and I have heard that apple computers won't play or edit avchd.

Our season in review is here on the Peak Travels page on EpicSki. Rather than put the individual videos up, I'll just link the page for anyone who wants to peruse them.

^^ I saw (and liked) your video on Vimeo earlier this week.  Really nice editing with the beat jump cuts.

Thanks Jay!  It has been interesting this year doing my video editing.  I am doing EVERYTHING in absolute chronological order which makes the editing process different and a bit challenging, but it has been fun.  The only thing I use to edit is iMovie as I no longer have access to Final Cut, but it still does the trick for me.

Season isn't over yet.  I'm just getting over a little injury but I hope to post some more in here before the summer!

Thanks so much. Glad you enjoyed it! There's no place better than the Cascades for skiing in our mind!

Haha, I just realized that I wrote "Suck great terrain" but I meant "Such great terrain."
