New Toy! Social Groups on EpicSki

A new toy has been created for EpicSki!  Social Groups will probably have greatest applicability to local resort groups. Click on the Social Groups article to learn more about how to access and use Social Groups on EpicSki. Feel welcome to play with this new feature. It's still under development so we're definitely interested in suggestions to refine this tool.

The mission of this thread on Berkshire East can now be accomplished as a social group, if amenable.

Cool, regional stuff like weekend meet-ups and local condition discussion potential..

Ha, I opened Epic this evening to find an invite to join a group and scoped in the process by a relative newbie here on Epic. Thanks for the invite, DSloan. This should be a great tool to organize impromptu get togethers and larger gatherings. Nice idea and thanks.

nolo there is no Berkshire East social group, all you did was link to a thread I started, why use that to promote this feature?  You have that all over the place, on the wiki, etc.

SMJ, I thought that thread called "Berkshire East Skiers Discussion" was a great example of how we can use social groups here at EpicSki. At the time you posted the thread it caught my attention and when we got groups I remembered your thread. You might take it as a compliment!

She's been hanging out with "the cool EpicSki kids" out in Colorado LHC, so she's getting the inside scoop before us even though she's "new".

No inside information here! I saw the wiki article on the EpicSki homepage, just like everyone else. I just acted on it faster. Last I checked, ours was the only social page. cool.gif

"Cool EpicSki Kids" as a group? Does have a ring to it.

I think you could be the lead on that one.

I added a new group Bozemania for SW Montana skiers to plot some action next ski season -- and maybe some pre-season shenanigans as well.

Talk about a hot group. Its membership has already doubled.

Hurray!

I'd create a group for my area....but I'd have no members....  :(

It's not under any copyright yet Phil, so you have my permission to use it freely!  I can only hope to be granted admission one daybiggrin.gif

Will there be a link to "My Groups" from the toolbar or from the profile page?

We'll go from the toolbar, I suspect.
