Definitely two. If you have only one leg, it's far easier to ski out. You don't get all tangled up and stuff.
I guess I should give a little background ... this aired on Rocky Mtn PBS back in February. It is an overview of the avalanche situation in CO: the filmmaker (a former Copper patroller) discusses the history of avy forecasting, describes the unique avy problem in CO, and interviews a cross-section of avalanche pros around here. They visit CAIC hq, ABasin patrol, Chicago Ridge cat skiing, Silverton CDOT, Special Forces training, that sort of thing. It's nothing groundbreaking, but it's interesting to have everything in one little package.
Poignant that about a week after this aired, the head of ABasin patrol (Leif Borgeson, who is in several scenes) died after hiking Highland Bowl in Aspen.
