For the past week i've been trying to move into a good carving technique, but have been having a few difficulties. Haven't been having lessons lately and all my mates are snowboarders (making it even harder to me to improve).
Some errors i know i've been doing include;
- Trying to turn with my body, instead of letting it go with the skis.
- Inclining forward
- Difficulty in maintaining a good parallel (always feel like i'll fall if i move skis any closer).
- Always seem to forget to place inside ski forward before turn.
- Can't leave the 'A' position in faster turns instead of a l l, because i feel like i fall into the inside (direction i lean towards).
- Hip movement
Before i started trying to improve, i was skiing just like most low intermediate skiers. Sticking to the easy blues, going straight down, only doing hockey stops and wider turns...
Any drills or ideas that can get me into proper stance, parallel skis and doing efficient turns, or will this only happen when i do enough classes.
