April was a blast.  The weather kept us off of our bigger goals, but we still had a blast exploring old areas in new ways.

 

 

Since I won't be doing much more skiing in Colorado this year, I thought I'd give a short photo tribute to my CO skiing this season.  A few of the pics are below, more can be seen here.

I recently got these pics of my friend and I feel that I would be remiss if I didn't add the "best faceshot" of the year to my photo tribute. The following pictures, again courtesy of Patrick Orton, are of a close friend of mine. He was lucky/unlucky enough to earn the claim of Best Faceshot of the Year. A guy once dry-docked on Eagle's Nest, a very bony line. He double-ejected and was headed for a face plant on basalt scree and slab, so he did the only thing he could: he started running. It was clearly a: feet, don't fail me now!!eek.gifaaaack!

 

That is a great shot; though not often photographed as well, the double eject is a common enough occurrence, especially dropping in, and often leads to a perfect front flip.

Thanks.  Great skiing.  Was the scenic cornice jump wipeout in the backcountry?  Which resort is in the background?
