One of my friends (a former WC racer) has been skiing with fused vertebra for a couple of decades now. She missed last season with getting more of them fused, but I'm sure she'll be back next season. She certainly skis at a different pace now, but she doesn't let it stop her from skiing either.

I hope so...my son had spinal fusion done with hardware as well and he can't wait to get back on skis next season. Surgeon said he would be able to ski again!!

I have a friend who had two vertabrae in her neck fused and she still skis... probably against her doctor's wishes because there's a lot of other stuff going on in her case.  Don't know how hard or aggressive she's going at it, however.

L2 and L3 are fused from a car accident 26 years ago.  A Chiro just south of the river from where you are manages to keep me upright and I can still turn left and right pretty well.
