If anyone is still considering skiing, it's ridiculous. Weather is not frigid, but cold enough to keep the snow nice. It dumped ALL afternoon today, further softening up everything, and the sun was only barely out at all during the morning. I'm not sure there is much spring crust left anywhere. Unfortunately, East Wall wasn't opened either today or yesterday. :-( . But anyone up tomorrow, get there early, hopefully they will open it up. There is probably 18" or more untouched.
Glad to know there will be some Untracked for us in the am. Set the clock for O- dark- Thirty, feel like a little kid on X-mas Eve!

Have fun. I can't complain too much, we had mucho untracked all morning two days in a row, mostly in Montezuma (which is skiing as well as I've ever seen). I have really been slobbering over the East Wall, though. Enjoy!
At the end of the Day on 5-21-11 we went back out on the Deck & checked on the Glass we left on 5-13.
Here's how it Looked...
That's what optimism does for you!!
They opened the East Wall late this morning, untouched since maybe Wednesday. It was pretty nice. :D
Glad you got it! I almost went up today, but I've been sort of obsessing over them opening it, so I decided to chill. ;-) How was the snow, besides deep? Was it still nice and light, or had it set up yet?
Nice Rachel!
Glad you got some reward for your patience!
Edit:
Thanks for showing me around your home mountain!

It had set up a little -- it was kind of creamy by the time they got it open, but not slushy at all. They spent all morning blasting, and then it was open for maybe 2-3 hours. It looked like some small slides had gone across the traverse, but I'm not sure what happened. It opened, I took 2 laps, it was totally tracked out, and then after lunch it was closed again and they were maybe 3-4 tiny slides all along the traverse. Best 2 laps I've taken in May by a mile, though. :)
