There are numerous problems with your posts:
1: What you write, and what you do, dont align. For exampe I wrote if you dont flex and extend in bumps your skiing will suck. You seem to take exception with this most basic idea. Do you actually beleive that you are not flexing and extending??????????
2: Your "heel flick" idea, is not SVMM, not even close. No good bump skiers do what you claim. What is lacking is understanding on your part. Show me a video of a good mogul skier doing a heel flick. Fortunatley for you, you dont do that....that is one reason your bump skiing is not bad.
Again...post a video showing the heel flick.....I gotta run, but I will look for some when I get back, and show you why what you preach sucks. Heel flick is nothing new, it is a misconception, and on the hill we spend a lot of time getting people to STOP doing it! You are not explaining anything I dont know. What you are suggesting is that people should do mini-backscratchers down the backside of every bump. That will only ensure you in the back seat, with tips on the ground perhaps...but in no way are you ina position to start a new turn.
Here we go:
You wrote, and have written and argued, etc in every bump thread going that:
In this case being retaining/regaining ski shovel contact with the snow by immediately flexing the knees and opening/projecting the hips at the beginning of transition.
Well lets see this "heel flick" idea in practice:
There second skier is a guy doing as you suggest, he is flicking the heels up, by flexing the knees as he passes over a bump. Nice one.
The second skier in this video has taken your advice also. He doesnt "heel flick" on every bump, but it is easy to see where he does.....not surprisingly the next 2 or 3 turns following one of these flicks has him caught in the backseat, in a crouched position rendering him completely unable to manage the bumps infront of him.
Lots of heel flicking going on here...particularily when the bumps are big it is most apparent....the guy from 3:57 to 4:10 is likely the worst.
Nails....can you see that these people are infact doing what you say? Can you see why this entire board is saying "no"? Can you see that what you do, and what Joey does is different? Can you not see what was in the orginal "reality video" and skitansky video is also different? BUT that what you and SVMM does, is alot closer to the other videos then these guys??????????? Please tell me you can see this.
These were the best skiers I could find doing what you say. No-one can ski effectivley without flexion and extension or by "heel flicking" down the backside of bumps. As I wrote before...do what you wrote, and your skiing will suck. (*this time the red emphasis is mine )
