Subscription notifications are on the fritz

I have not received subscription notifications since 3/18 other than one instant one I manually set up as a test. Is there a setting that came about I missed the memo on?

 

Also, Firefox 4 on a Mac is non-functional for composing and submitting posts.

I'll ask about your subscription problem, Alpinord. Here's what I learned about the editor/FF 4 problem:

Well, your's post generated a notification. I entered a different email address and went through the verification process and then whitelisted Epicski on our server for the original email address. Then I re-verified the original email address and set all subscriptions to immediate. We'll see how it works now.

Liquidfeet, would you make sure that epicski is whitelisted in your email settings and report back? That's the first step in troubleshooting.

My spam filter is off.  Nothing goes in there.  So epic notifications are not ending up in that.  

 

Don't know where they go.  Everything I'm subscribed to is set for immediate notification, but nothing comes to my email.

Mine has been working so far after the aforementioned steps. The whitelisting I performed is probably not an option for most email accounts since it is at the server level. I'm not sure what options there are in spam filters regarding whitelisting.

 

As Nolo suggested to me, try a different email address, ideally a "public" one like, gmail, hotmail or yahoo if you have the option. Go through the verification process, see if that works and then try going back to your original email address. I'm wondering if the re-verificaion process helps shake out some cobwebs in the system? th_dunno-1[1].gif

Can those with problems check on the following and report back to help troubleshoot your issue?

*If you look at the bottom of the post area, you'll see the drop-down that says "Get notified when others reply?"  This will let you decide when the emails go out-  either as soon as someone updates a thread (immediate), a big daily email of what others are saying, the same thing in weekly format, or none at all.

After receiving the immediate notification for your post, I did not receive one for RaceDude's. Same on another thread.

 

I changed all subscriptions back to Daily to see how that goes over the next couple of days.

Well, I've checked my subscriptions page - everything is set for immediate notification to my email.  

There is ongoing activity in a number of my subscriptions.

I'm getting nothing in my email.

There's nothing appearing in my spam folder - they aren't going there either.

In the past, I was typically receiving daily subscription notifications mid to late morning (Mtn time). Nothing arrived today and I am not sure if this is because I had received immediate notifications for a couple threads in lieu of the daily notification after I changed the preference.

I don't know if this is a related problem or not.  Another service I have for selling my mom's house is supposed to send me weekly "reports" on activity.  It, too, stopped working in March.  I get notifications from the same server for appointments being set up, but not the weekly reports.  I whitelisted, lower the spam filter, confirmed that spam was supposed to go to a Junk folder, not trash, etc.  No reports.  Finally added on two other email accounts to receive the report.  The report ended up in ONLY ONE OF THE THREE ACCOUNTS.  Now, on two of the accounts the domain is hosted by Verio, the third account is a Century Tel account.  So, there may be filtering going on PRIOR TO your account level by the hosting company.  Very irritating.

Sort of a related question...What does "follow" do?  I've got a few people set to "follow", but it doesn't seem to put them in my subscription list.

Here's a tutorial on Followers and Following. If you're following someone and not getting updates, either the person is not active or this is another problem to report. I'll check into it.

They are definitely active.  I only noticed for sure that it wasn't working when I came across postings that weren't appearing.

Well, I am still not getting feeds about what followed members are posting.  It's not email related, I'm just looking for it to show up in my Subscription Activity Feed like the other things I'm subscribed to.

I am still not sure if people I follow are supposed to end up in my "subscriptions" or not.  If so, they didn't.  Only one posted today, but he didn't show.
