- 6' and not quite an inch
- 175 without gear
- Level 7-8'ish
- Ski will be used mostly for Mammoth "no new snow" days on groomers/bowls at variable speeds (but nothing greater than ~40mph...my internal speedometer may be broken, however)
The Salomon ski size chart at evo.com has me pretty much in between a 177 and 184 from a weight perspective:
Pretty much the same story from REI's sizing chart.
Sierra Jim, at 200 pounds and a better skier, demo'd the 184 but thought the 177 was the right length for him:
Finndog, at 170 pounds, likes the 177:
The four points of reference above were used to make my decision on the 177's, and I believe that I made the right choice, but a little extra confirmation never hurts. I will be looking to pick up a ski that's about 15-20mm wider and in the mid 180's at some point prior to or during next season. If you think that I should have gone with the 184's, however, let me know.
