I've been going to northstar for a few times this season (my first season!!) and I went to squaw when i first started (of course, i didn't know any better). I'm still very much afraid of high speed and steeps, so when I'm at Northstar, i pretty much stayed on blue groomers. The steepest I've handled at northstar is the drifter run (taking zephyr lift) and go down to drifter (how people usually go to the backside). I can pretty much do all the blue runs at northstar.
At squaw, i couldn't remember much but i remember Emigrant scared the crap out of me (i think it was my 3rd time out).
Can someone who's familiar with both terrains advise me of where I should hang out at squaw this weekend? I will be staying at Resort at squaw creek, so i suppose i can take the chair up and go down to the village (last time I stayed there, the guy warned me that it's a SOLID blue and not for beginners, so I didn't take it), but I did go all the way down from the village back to the hotel on my last day, and if i remembered correctly, i was fine.
Where are the more gentler blues? I think the mountain run (the one that goes down to the village) was pretty melow, so was Gold Coast. Other suggestions?
