Hey fellow ski nerds,
Now that the busy season is shutting down here on Vancouver Island and I've sent all my students on their way, I've got a little time to sit at the computer and ask for your feedback. It's nice to be on the other side of the camera and get some feedback on my own skiing for a change and hopefully I can set some training goals for next season.
Attached is a video of some short turns...
My goals here are to demonstrate round rhythmical short turns with some deflection of the COM while keeping a consistent speed down the fall line.
Long term goal: If I can squeeze in some training next season I would like to go to the CSIA Demo team tryouts next year and at least make it through the first round of cuts for Interski 2015... but realize I've probably got a ways to go.
Any advice is appreciated.
Apologies for the video quality of the first couple of clips... they are obviously shot on a different camera. I've been experimenting a bit with forward lean and in the first 2 clips the boots are a bit more upright then in the others towards the end.
In the first clips the conditions are also quite slushy spring snow whereas the later clips are mid winter harder snow with some inconsistencies.
