blueBIRD

After 3 good to great days of skiing fresh snow everyday, a thunderstorm rolled though dumped a supposed 5 inches of snow, and then it went bluebird today.

4 days so far of turns like this. We hit the bookend opening and then went back for not so sloppy seconds

4ster

Good turns were had on Baldy as well to bad the lifts didnt stay open longer as we could have untracked all day long skiing baldy.

I love this shot.

Great fun skiing with you guys today!  One of the finest days you could imagine.  I posted a few pics on the Wasatch conditions thread, but yours are much better.

People need to shift their way of thinking & start skiing in the Springtime.  Pretty nice hitting the rope drop on Bookends.

Thanks for the tour,

Josh, looks like your trip is paying off in spades! I'd encourage you to enjoy it, but it doesn't look you need it.

How long will Snowbird be open and what's the story with lower down on the mountain?

Is their ski school still open? I've got a friend who's going out to slc next week and will go to the bird for a day or two.

since my roomie is hurt he had time to put together a video of why he got hurt.

Hope your roomie is OK & can enjoy the snow coming your way tomorrow night.

I'm jealous, I couldn't make it this year, to much to do around here.

I hope Eric heals up quickly and can get back out there.  Keep posting the TR's!

that's gonna leave a mark!  Eric, hope you are feeling better.

Thanks for the well wishes everyone. My chest still hurts like hell, but I didn't let it keep me from the bluebird pow day the following day. I only skied half the day until it got choppy, which is what really sucks for the pain, and that's what gave me the time to put the video together. It was a funny day. I hit the biggest drop I've ever done (dropping 15 feet off the cornice into Elevator, as seen in the video), and hit the biggest air I've ever hit. Too bad I didn't see that one coming.

more to come later, still have the bluebird day that follows, but its snowing again 12-20 inches predicted with more if lake enhancement picks up. If your at the Bird say hi and you can ski untracked snow all day long.

Doc said it was just a bad contusion to the sternum. I think they may have missed something in the x-ray though, because anytime I cough, sneeze, laugh heavily, etc, I feel a pop. A very painful pop at that.

Don't do that. I've got the same problem at the moment. I think I either bruised or cracked a rib Sunday when I fell off my bike. At least you were having more fun than me.

Enjoy! And don't get powder giggles.

Picture of the day today:

Snowbird April 30

Snow was DEEP. Someone missed first tram today because he was sleeping on the floor of the Snowbird Center, and it wasn't me. If you need a hint who it was, ask the guy who started this thread.

wow I guess there really are no friends on a powder day, didn't even wake him up. Nice pictures of the skiing guys. Floating in powder shouldn't hurt your chest too much, great drop in the video Eric.
