Asps, as in snakes (Raiders of the Lost Ark).  My ski buddy from my youth and I used to say that to each other while skiing. We would look down something steep and say "very dangerous, you go first".

Such a funny thread.  We all started some where.  Dig through that photo album your parents have of you skiing on Christmas when you were ten years old...gaper?  However, as you get older and frequent your favorite mountain as an adult, and you SEE the skiers and riders around you, and you STILL wear jeans with Scotch Guard, front entry boots, a jacket with all your lift tickets on a zipper slamming you in the face, YOU ARE A GAPER!  Okay, let's go gape it up and slap those 200's on!

Due to the warm temps in Tahoe, Gaper Boy and I have been hanging out at Disney this past week...

That's awesome.  Looks particularly funny with the powder skis.
