I snowboard and my wife skis (so Alta/DV is out of the question). We are between beginner and intermediate (although, my wife wants formal lessons). Which would have more green runs or easy Blues: Solitude, Brighton, Snowbird, or PCMR?
I looked up the stats at all 4:
PCMR - 17% Beginner out of 114 runs = 19 Beginner runs
Solitude - 20% Beginner out of 65 runs = 13 Beginner runs
Brighton - 21% Beginner out of 66 runs = 14 Beginner runs
Snowbird - 27% Beginner out of 85 runs = 23 Beginner runs (if my math is correct)
Now, I keep reading all over the forum that Snowbird is not for beginners and can be very intimidating. If it is in fact intimidating and not for beginners then why does it have the most Beginner runs?
Also, aside from Park City, which resort would have the most amenities i.e. restaurants, a brewpub or two, hot tub. I figure we can drive into Park City if we get too much cabin fever. I'm here 80% for the ski experience and 20% for the aki apres experience.
Any thoughts from you veterans out there?
