A-basin 2011 Mothers day??? - Page 8

I'll bring up any coolers I have for cold storage.  Also planning to bring any chairs I have.  I can also grab cups/plates/plasticware down here and will bring trash bags.  And the always present magnetic bottle opener.  What else can be brought up by a local?  I'm blanking here.

I will bring my chairs and spare table that we had last month, and a popup shade tent that we might or might not want to use. I also have a cooler full of waters, cokes, and beer (about a case?) left over from the gathering -- I will probably bring that up Friday, though, so I assume it will need replenishment by Sunday.

Will update on the grill....

That was quick. Grill has been secured.

Duh.  I'll have beer and water as well for the cooler.  It would just be silly to bring an empty cooler.  And my friend Kelly will bring a cooler as well.

Susan, if it would be easier for you to load some of your stuff in my car Friday evening or Saturday so you don't have to load it down and back up on Sunday I'm sure we can figure that out.

FWIW, for some of us who are flying in, it will be easy for us to fill in the gaps with replenishing water(and other various beverages), getting paper plates, cups, etc, to take the burden off the locals.

(or should I say "loco's")

You say that as if you've never seen my car before ....

I have tons of paper products already, so no worries there. Just get food. :-)

The reason I had said I would do non-perishables is because I will leave directly from work to head up Friday night as going home would add 40 minutes to my drive so I'm trying to avoid having perishables in my car all day at work.  And beer/water can be stored in the cooler and re-chilled upon arrival (it won't be hot enough to skunk the beer).

Hehe, posting at the same time Susan.  Let's chat offline.

FWIW, Beer & Bourbon are perishable...I will make sure they don't hang around too long to go bad.

There are rumors that you left stuff after the Gathering.  I'm somewhat dissapointed in you.

It looks as though I may get my wish for some warm spring skiing.  Bring lots of sunscreen!

And rubber boots ... it can get pretty muddy in the parking lot when it's warm.

Muddy?  Oh heck, we might be able to go whitewater rafting in the parking lot.  Choose your parking space carefully.

If anyone is near a 306mm I have some 180 Bushwacker's as well.

Would love to try the 180 Bone to see how they compare to 187 I tried at the bird.

I can stop by late Saturday if we leave Berthoud Pass early. It's my buddy's last ski day before he heads to the PNW to ski some volcanos for a month. Sunday is a no go with Sniktau on the agenda and closing day at LL. How do I find you guys?

We'll be looking a lot like this!

We always like to show our best sidebiggrin.gif

As the weekend gets closer, we could touch base on a good meet up time/place?  Or by then we'll know a bit more of what we're doing and what we'll be wearing??

(thinking out loud)

Lot's of eating options with good value this time of year...I'm not sure what Pug's is doing but know that many places are running their 2 for 1s, 50% off or other specials including Vinny's, Nowzawa, 5th Ave Grill, and Begalis (wed, thur & Sunday).  IMO it is a good time of year to go a bit more upscale than you might normally.  Can check out the Summit Daily online to see all the advertised deals. http://summitdailynews.co.newsmemory.com/

If you go to Pugs, be sure to call ahead to reserve a table in the psychotic waiter's section!  :)

+1... Nothing says ambiance quite like getting hosed on your drink and then having your server cry in your rusty nail about it.  I blame Phil, he got me started on 'em in the first place...

I think we had a different waiter at our end of the table. We had no issues.

I think we were too busy laughing to have any concept of the wait staff issues.

I don't know if anyone mentioned it earlier, but if you are interested in skiing Loveland, bring a 2010/2011 season pass from any other ski area, and they will sell you a $30 ticket.

Okay ... if anyone else wants to do Loveland but not on Thursday, Christy and I will be there Friday morning before heading over to ABasin.
