Just bought a pair of boots (Lange RS 130) and get home to realize that this model has no replaceable toe/heel inserts. I just assumed they did after trying on other Lange boots that looked the same and had them. I'm not terrible hard on boots in terms of scuffing up the soles, but I am concerned about the lack of grip these boots may have on icy foot paths.Should lack of these toe/heel inserts be a deal breaker for this or any other reason ? Thanks.
Lack of replaceable toe/heel inserts a safety issue?

The lack of inserts makes it easier for your boot fitter to cant your soles. If you are not gong to cant, you may want to lift them so that the lifters can be sacrificial when walking. If concerned about traction, you can get vibram lifter plates.
