In a private conversation with one of our valued professional members last week, I got this feedback:
We particularly want to address this issue in the Instruction and Coaching forum, but will also deal with in gear discussions and elsewhere.
I am actually quite amazed that a professional skier and a high level instructor would be bothered by someone calling him/her "pivot skidder"; what's the big deal, you not THAT insecure, so shrug it off. This is Internet, and those things are a part of it; do you really need some guy who you dont know to acknowledge that you are a good skier? TGR is essentially unmoderated, and yet a lot of pro skiers hang in there and I dont think they generally get upset if they are insulted. It is fine to make Epic a safe environment, but making it sterile would not help the site in the long run.
P.S> In fairness, TGR thrives on the "insiders" conversation; if you are a new guy you are generally gratuitously insulted; so I think insiders tend to behave well to each other.
