Jackson Hole - UNGLAUBLICH! 3-30-2011

We went over 550 inches for the season this morning.  Heavy snow forecast for this afternoon and tonight.

I'm tired of skiing powder.  Fading fast.  Please don't send help.

Only time for one photo.  Here's one of the two Germans I've been skiing with the last couple days:

Kluge Deutsche - It's been 65-70 degrees in Stuttgart the last week and a lousy snow year in the Alps since January.  Would love to have just one of those JH dumps here.

I learned a new word today.  The Germans were really going crazy as we were riding the Union Pass chair after one of our runs.  The word "UNGLAUBLICH!" kept coming up.  I had to ask what it means, of course.  Here's the reply:

"You have the word 'unbelievable', yes?"

Yes, we do.

"Well, 'unglaublich' is unbelievable only way more."

A few more photos from today...

This is my business partner, former World Cup downhiller Andy Chambers.  We were, ahem, working.  rolleyes.gif

Here's Andy showing that racers never really get away from making racing turns, even in deep powder:

Andy disappearing:

Without giving names, here's the first German again:

And the second German:

And getting boisterous:

unglaublich. I haven't heard that word since I trained with my Swiss coach Georg Capaul. He was usually referring to falls.
