FS: Kastle FX94 176cm

Thread Starter

Up for sale is a pair of used Kastle FX94s in 176cm.  Great skis, but I decided I like the MX88 more and can't have both in the quiver or my wife will kill me.  Bought these used a month or two ago from another member here.  These are a solid ski that I would likely keep if I lived somewhere with a regular supply of softer snow.  They really shine in softer conditions, but the MX88 is better on hard snow and we get plenty of that around here.

Skis are in good used condition with typical topsheet scratches and edge dings.  Everything is cosmetic and in no way affects the skis performance.  As anyone can attest who has owned these or the FX84, the black topsheet Kastles are quite scratch prone.  Bases are in very good condition with a couple of small (dime sized) ptex repairs that look to have been professionally done.  Edges are in excellent condition and have been hand tuned by myself.

These have been mounted twice.  They were mounted with Marker Jesters for a 335mm (29/29.5 mondo) boot when I bought them and I remounted them with Marker Griffon demo binders using the same holes (plus one additional hole for the toepiece).  They were also previously mounted for another binding, but I'm not sure what it was, possibly a touring binding?

Asking $400 shipped to the lower 48.  Also am open to trade offers for a fun shape ski in the 105-115mm width range or a mid 80's twintip that I could use to play around in the park and ski with my 7 year old.

I also have a set of Griffon Demo bindings that I was planning on keeping, but could part with for $150 if that will help these to sell more easily.

Post or PM with any questions or offers you may have.

Corrected the BSL of the previous mount.  Was mounted for a 335mm boot, not 325.

Updated post to clarify that these have only been mounted twice and that I would be willing to sell them mounted with a set of Griffon Demo bindings for an additional $150.

Thanks,
Mike

Would the demos fit in the pre-drilled holes, or would they need to be re-drilled?

They will fit back into the same holes.  No re-drilling necessary.

Bump.  Make me an offer if you think my price is too high.

Price drop to $400 shipped to the lower 48, or $550 shipped with the Griffon Demos.

RaceDude, I think the Step Up is a bit too much of a pure park ski for me.  I want to be able to ski it all over the mountain, not just in the park.

It's a very park ski, which is why I haven't even touched it haha  Let me know if you ever want a pure park ski.

Hi Mike --

Perhaps not enough park but I have some 181 Blizzard Titan 9s with 997s that I would be open to trading -- they are near-new (skied 3 days). -- I can send pics if you're interested.  Thanks...

No that won't work sully.  I've already got another 90 in the waist ski and there would be too much overlap.

Thanks anyway.

Haven't had much interest in these so I decided to just mount them up with the Griffon Demos again in case that's more attractive to anyone.

Here are some pics.  Make me an offer, but I'm not going to give them away!  I'll keep them for myself and to share with friends before dumping them cheap.

Hi Mike,

I am seriously interested in these skis. I'm new to this site but would like to take the discussion offline. Are you able to email me or something?

Skis no longer available!  Traded to epic for some fat skis.

Thanks,

Mike
