Ski Jacket Advice

Hi,

I am looking for a budget ski jacket and have found these two in the sales

Could anyone tell me which is the better of the two? Anyone any experience of either or by looking at them?

Which would you go for?

Thanks!

The first one is a little better in terms of waterproof/breathability.

It's a tough choice between buttugly and buttuglier. .. but assuming that you will never post hear again, I prefer to offer no constructive advice.

you should probably look for a ski jacket made by a ski/jacket company rather than a surfing apparel company..

jus saying.

watch steepandcheap.com

Have to agree with asschick - granted, taste is subjective, but apparently so is no taste.

Two places to pick up great gear at dirt prices, Steep n cheap.com and The Clymb.com

I've purchased most of my gear on both and have saved a ton of money for top quality ski gear and clothing.

I bought a somewhat expensive jacket from O-Neil because it had great specs (20K breathability, etc).  I wouldn't do it again.  Cheap stitching and seams all around.  The worse is cheap velcro that flies apart.  I would be far, far better off with a better brand with lesser specs.

What to people think about this one:

Would it be worth spending bit more for?

I wondered whether it was warm enough as i believe its quite lightweight.

This is my favorite site for high quality ski clothing at great prices: http://www.sierratradingpost.com/ They buy closeouts from all the top manufacturers. I got my Marmot jacket for 70% off.

certainly would be my pick of the three you noted...

I've had northface stuff for many years, never disappointed.

looks like a lined shell jacket, which to my specs, would be preferred.

I like to multilayer underneath, which allows the option of using fleece and other vests (especially cycling vests with mesh backs...) rather than full sleeve underlayers.

I like more arm mobility, and being a olde pharte, I like a little more core warmth than the old daze...

means you can really pick you're what works best for you ...

POW skirt, pit zips, lotz a pockets always good. better to have a hood than not.

adjustable cuffs - not clear there, but a combo of velcro and elastic works for me.

bellows chest pockets, not my favorite option, but iff'n you don;t load em up, they're prolly not bad.

The external pocket zippers may not be waterproof, so best to carry water sensitive stuff internal.

if black is an OK color for you... I like bright colors, but black shows less wear and dirt

if it's a good price for you - its prolly a good jacket.
