Steamboat March 18, freshies and bluebird day.

Steamboat reported 13 in the past 48 hours, as usual, theres more.....  St.Paddys day was bizarre, heavy snow all day and no one on the Mtn, Skied areas that are typically tracked out that were relatively untouched.  fast forward to today. Ski-ra came up last night and after a beer tasting and pasta night with Zombie movies we were ready for this morning.  Met up with my Friend Jon and we hit the mountain. Powder was not Champagne but still very nice. Hit Storm peak lift as it opened and enjoyed untracked lines.  Worked our way across the mountain into closets and shadows.  Blue bird day that did not dissappoint.   Temps warmed up quickly and snow got a bit heavier but then turned into a whipped cream cheese that was incredible.

We spent the second half of the day poking around finding some shots that were from the gondi down. Off Vagabond is Arrowhead glades; an open area with some shrubby trees that are skiing beautifully due to the snow pack. Deep shots here!  We also worked the terrain under the gondi between Heavenly daze and Upper valleyview, again, untracked whipped cream cheese.  some incredible skiing here, we hit this a few times.  from there we worked over into the Beetle Ridge to the boundary lines and down, some great shots there.   We did a fair amount of bushwacking today with branches that are normally higher but now are at head level....A great day at the boat.  I have a bunch of video that I have to edit but here's a fun shot from the top of Sundown, into Priest creek area, the snow was awesome!

Looks like you had a nice time.

St Patrick's day at Steamboat without the bump-off is a god dam shame.

Ira and I found some "new" shots that you are going to like very much..... I am sure Tam knows all of them already but we really hit some new stuff for us that is going to be on the list for pow days.

Yea, a lot of people had lots of 'fun'. I understand why it got 86ed, but its still a shame. Throwing front flips into chute 1 FTW!

That would have a a lot of fun to see. I heard folks set up BBQ and all for the event.  Seems like it was just a few that ruined it. Something about a rather large brawl that broke out one year
