Good luck to all those who are going.  Ski fast.  As Bob Barnes once told me "Dive and have faith"

I second Pandita's sentiment: go for broke, leave it all out there on the hill.... and have a BLAST!

I'll be thinking of y'all while I ride Skyline Drive on the 'ol two-wheeled bicycle contraption.

Yes, good luck and have a great time everyone !!!  Go straight, roll clean, edge high!!!

How many Epic Team'ers do we have going?

I'll echo the sentiments.  Best of luck to everyone.  And to the competitors in my class, exercise caution and don't go too fast.  ski.gif

If you see an elderly guy lugging skis and a snowboard say hi.

Yep, good luck to everyone-ski fast and take chances. Hope to meet some of the Bears out there.

Pat, I'm in 55-59 group, so we'll be racing on the same course  (for the ski segment).

Good luck to all......be fast, be furious.

Pat....do it again this year!

Hopefully I will see a couple of the bears out there as well. I arrive on Wed and am doing the race clinic on Thursday.

I'll be in Winter Park on Thursday morning, driving up from Denver. My son bailed on me so I'll be there by myself, ready to race. Debating about a stone grind before I go but I probably won't need it. I'll probably just hot wax 'em and throw them in the bag. Looks like we have some snow moving in so I'm looking forward to free skiing on Thursday. I was thinking about the race clinic but I really want to free ski some. Is there normally a dollar course or a regular NASTAR course set up prior to the races (on Thursday)? Hope to meet some of you out there!

There's a regular NASTAR course at WP but don't bother.  Your course will be much harder than that.  The WP NASTAR course is pretty flat especially at the top.  It will not prep you for what you will be racing on unless you are a snowboarder or over the age of 75.  Only snowboarders and the old skiers will be using that course.  Alot of people made that mistake last year and the lines were insane and snowboarders didn't get to train on their course.  Skiers then complained because the course wasn't like what they raced on.  If you want to train or get some laps on your race course - take a training clinic.  The WP NASTAR course is $10/day for unlimited runs.

Can't wait to get there!  Flight leaves Hartford at dawn tomorrow.

Look for an elderly guy lugging skis and a snowboard to the race hill and say hi.

Best of luck to everyone competing.

Daysailer1, see you soon!

I arrived at my daughter's house in Denver/Northglenn about 4:30 this afternoon. Tuesday to recover from the drive and I'll either come up Wednesday or Thursday early. Not sure if I should bother with the training-I'd like to take a few practice runs on the course, but $140.00 is pretty steep for the privilege.I'll probably just free ski on my trainers or  mid fat boards. When you drive out, it's amazing how much stuff you bring!
