Skis...by the numbers?

This is a 3 fold question: 1) how many current alpine ski brands are there (skis themselves, not other gear such as boots, poles, helmets, etc)? 2) approximately how many individual ski models come out each year (including special editions but not 1-offs)? 3) Is there currently a website/database somewhere that has all skis listed and if so, is it in the public domain?

I tried searching this but no matter how i worded the question, 100s of other sites/links/threads came up and i was no closer to an answer.  Also, for the numbers i am more interested in ballpark figures right now, although a complete list of all current ski brands/manufacturers would be interesting to look at.  As for the database, this is something i would love to see when buying new cars/skis/bikes/etc but have never seen with any kind of completeness.

1) There are about a dozen major ski brands, although some share manufacturing/engineering resources.  Then there are dozens of boutique manufacturers with much lower volume.

2) Easily over a hundred, maybe over two hundred.  The major manufacturers each put out a dozen models or more each.

3) www.realskiers.com maintains a large review database of most popular ski models.  Not free, but I think it only costs ~$15/year for access.  I'm not aware of any sites that maintain a truly definitive list of every ski model ever.  The gear section here probably lists quite a few, but is undoubtedly missing many older or specialty skis.

Another source of info is from large online ski retailers.  ski-depot.com has 12 brands listed and a pretty extensive list of models per brand.  I'd say there are more then matthias did when you include each brand's recreational and race skis (not to mention youth models.)  I wouldn't be surprised if there were over 300 models just with those 12 manufacturers, and I'd think there are some brands this one site doesn't carry.

You could probably put together a pretty good list yourself in a few hours of online research.  Make a list of all the brands, then go to the manufacturers websites for the models.

Thanks for the replies. Here is the list I was able to come up with.  I figured I was missing some of the small ones as well I wasn't able to confirm if Volant and Claw skis are still made, and if G3 only does Telemark skis (I don't know enough about Telemark skis to understand how/if it could only be used for that).

You are missing a _lot_ of the small ones:
