Thank you Nolo! Chiho sent a link to her family, perhaps they will get to see the little guy on the front page of Epicski. Hopefully this cheers them up; they all live in Southern Japan and are not directly affected by the quake, but her sister and our 1-year old niece live north of Tokyo and have been without food or water for 2 days (until earlier today). I can't imagine how bad it is in Fukushima and Iwate prefectures. I am sure they feel a lot like we did on September 11th.
The little one's name is Kaito, which means "mountain climber" in Japanese. Everyone says he is super strong for being so young, hopefully he is an athlete like his parents! Or, at least he can be my chess partner. I thought he would look more Japanese, but maybe that comes later on. He does have the "born with a wig on" look of a Japanese baby.
We have plenty of little 67cm rental skis and 15.5 monodpoint rental boots at the shop. They don't get much use, so I think he will be set to go with gear until he gets a little bigger. He is lucky to be growing up in a ski town; I wasn't much into skiing until High School. By the time we need to buy him "real" skis, who knows what type of skis will exist at that point. Thanks for all of the kind words!
