Day trips to Tahoe from the Bay?

Hey there,

Does anyone on here ever take day trips up to Tahoe from the Bay Area? I am an avid skier who unfortunately lacks a car. Would love the opportunity to tag along with someone, and happily share gas cost.

Thanks!

There are day buses.  Unfortunately, I think you'd have to take a taxi to get to the pickup points, even though some of them are at BART stations.  (No trains at 4 am).

For example, http://www.bayareaskibus.com/

Mon, 3/14 - Alpine Meadows - ALL Ages
Wed, 3/16 - Kirkwood - Adults
Thur, 3/17 - Kirkwood - Adults
Sat, 3/19 - Kirkwood, Squaw or Alpine Meadows - Adults
Sat, 3/19 - Kirkwood - Teens & Families
Sat-Sun, 3/19-20 - Alpine Meadows & Squaw Valley - Adults [overnight hotel trip]
Sun, 3/20 - Alpine Meadows or Squaw Valley - Adult

Or

No easy cut and paste summary, but here is a sample

am departure: 5:00 am SF 17 St | 8:45 am Kirkwood |
pm departure: 8:15 pm SF 17 St | 4:30 pm Kirkwood |

Hey! This is great information. Thank you so much.

Have you ever skied Kirkwood before? It seems as though the only trips that leave from within the city go there only.

Kirkwood is a wonderful place.  We had a great time there two years ago. Go for it.

Actually, I think anywhere in Tahoe is worth going to if there is a trip that is convenient for you.

Consider the alternatives... not skiing??

You can also check out the message board on snowpals.org, which has a lot of ride share info for bay area to Tahoe.  There are quite a few day trips.
