What to ski at Stowe this week?

Looks like Sunday and Monday are going to be firm days. Should I plan on sticking to groomers? If I do that I'll take my GS boards out. They aren't fun in the bumps or trees though, so I'm wondering if I should bring my all mountains.

should have about 6 inches of new by monday monring. So firm groomers with some softer bumps and woods.

Why would you limit yourself to groomers on a mountain as big as stowe.....

You're driving up from Mass.? Why do you need to decide now, can't you bring the whole quiver?

I've got all my skis up here all the time anyway. Just lazy about swapping skis during the day. How was it today?

Considering it rained until 3 AM last night, it was pretty good. I had a nice run down Starr and skied a bunch of groomers. It was a lot better than I thought it might be.

Nice. Any trails I could use as gauges for the woods? Or best to just wait til it warms up later this week?

I'll be stopping by later in the week to take advantage of those ski club appreciation days.

Tell the boss thanks.

The woods will be just like the non-groomed trails, sloppy bumps with icy bits and slushy bits... except there will be trees to avoid. Ski Starr, if you like it head to the woods if you don't stay out of the woods. Of course 'the woods' can vary radically depending on aspect.

Went with the Nomads. Glad I did. Goat is skiing great, looking forward to Starr. Dipped into Sepp's and found it a bit sticky so I'll probably wait til later in the week.

wouldnt be sticky if you had something bigger than your nomads;)

Ironic isnt that you wanted to bring GS skis and now you cant ski terrain because your nomads arent big enough :).

It was near the bottom and the bases need wax. But I do need a real powder ski in the quiver. I should stop in and tall to Whiteroom this week.
