In every carving thread there's been talk about steeps. Now what is a steep according to you? (Images is nice)
Is it piste, off piste or both?
What is your preferred technique in a steep (as defined by you)?
If a steep can be several things, please describe technique per each kind of steep.
The technique can be described by a few bullet points or by linking a video if a description of the technique goes along with it, including a description of the transition.
Copy-paste works fine for descriptions. It must not be your own words by any means.
I just want to figure out how many types of valid steeps there are, and what ways each type of steep is best skied according to some of the epic members. If you want to, I'm equally interested in answers by PM.
I'm not interested in a debate, I'm only interested in your answers.
I've not skied much steeper than 45 degrees I think (sälen, åre, riksgränsen). If it's on piste I'll go with my normal arc to arc carving stuff. Off piste in Sweden is usually so bad it's mostly just getting down. Some rare times i've been on open spring slush or 3 ft powder in steep parts but those times it's just fun and games and I have no idea what or how I'm doing it. Unloading by getting out of the hill? I'm very slow outside the piste by todays measure.
