Im getting a bit frustrated of trying to navigate my Blizzard Magnesium SL's through todays tight courses. My Blizzards mesure Tip to Tail 109/65/99 and according to Physicsmans side cut radius calculator they have a turn radius of 13.5m. My sons 155cm Jr Atomics measure 11/62/95 and have a radius of 11,3m. My Bizz are also very stiff making it harder to bend.
I was trying out a pair of Atomics last week and they were a bit wider at the tip and the tail and felt much turnier. I had no chanse of testing them on a course. Last years model I tested and it felt very nice on the track but was I was faster on my Blizzards but most runs were slower. And a lot harder to ski. A lot of the best masters ski on the new Atomics. I wonder if somebody could measure their Atomics and post the measurements. One particular ski I would be interested in is the Rossignols. If anybody has any information and measurements it would be great. Same applies to the Fischers and any other brand.
Let me hear your thaughts on the topic. Insted of increasing canting going for a ski with a shorter turn radius could maybe help shape the turns rounder and make it easier to slice as much of the turn as possible.
