Just a heads up. I posted this same thing on TGR, so please don't jong-slap me for asking twice. Haha. I just haven't had any responses over there. Anyhoo...
My gf's sister is studying abroad in Grenoble, France this semester. She loves skiing and is super athletic, but is your typical Texan, who has only rented gear, and has pretty much only skied groomers in the US before. Before she left, I told her that the French alps were a TOTALLY different ballgame than the groomers at Breck, and that first and foremost she needed to buy her own boots, preferably something custom fit since she has odd shaped super flat feet. I mostly suggested that, because she was going on and on about how much she wants to get into skiing more, and has aspirations of moving to the mountains, and eventually becoming an instructor or ski patrol.
Well...fast forward a few weeks later. My gf gets an e-mail from her sis, whining about how bad her feet hurt by noon each day, because she's been using the crappy rentals. She's in so much pain it's practically a show stopper. As much as I'd love to say "I TOLD YOU SO," being the nice guy I am, I told her I'd ask on the forums if any of you knew any reputable boot fitters within 1-2 hours of Grenoble that I could refer her to.
So, any suggestions? Any help is much appreciated.
