need to know if these are 12 or 12.5 boots size

I have a pair of Head Edge+8 Mens ski boots shell says 30.0 / 30.5 349mm on the heal

On the liner it is stamped 30.0/30.5 with the #5706 on the heal.

I am being asked if these are a 12 or a 12 1/2 size boot.

Could some one answer me this question please.

I skied 30 shells for years and I wear a 14 street shoe.  Someone wearing a size 12 shoe will swim in a 30 shell.  Nothing worse than a boot that is too big...

Really an odd question:

Is 30 a 12?

Well I ski a 27, and have a size 10 foot.  So by that logic a size 29 would be a 12.  So your boots are a size 13.  But I have a tight fit, you might have a looser one, so it could be a 12.

As for 12 or 12.5...well that makes no difference as 30 and 30.5 is the same shell.  The difference is the 30s liner is sewn shorter...but that makes no difference as the liners stretch to your foot anyway....

If the boot fits wear it.

However, it sounds like someone is trying to buy them without trying them on...all you can do is relate..."I wear a size 12 Addidas, and these fit"...or what have you....good luck.

I went on a web site for boot sizeing head gear and this is what it had: I thought it meant size 12 / 12.5 = the 30.0/30.5(mondo) Boot Sizing Chart and Info A ski boot sizing chart to clue you in on your correct size. Ski Boot Sizing Chart This chart provides a safe comfortable size that most all skiers will be able to use. If you are looking for a true skier's performance fit (which will be about one half to one full size smaller), use the mondo sizing information provided on the website. Also for most ski boots, the .0 size uses the same shell and liner as the .5 size (like, 25.0 and 25.5) and will have almost an identical fit. Click the size for available selection in that range. Mens/Youth Women's Junior Mondo Typical Sole Length (mm) 7/7.5 14.0/14.5 195 8/8.5 15.0/15.5 195 9-10 16.0/16.5 210 11/11.5 17.0/17.5 220 12/12.5 18.0/18.5 230 13.0/13.5 19.0/19.5 240 1-2.5 20.0/20.5 250 3/3.5 4/4.5 21.0/21.5 255 4/4.5 5/5.5 22.0/22.5 265 5/5.5 6/6.5 23.0/23.5 275 6/6.5 7/7.5 24.0/24.5 285 7/7.5 8/8.5 25.0/25.5 295 8/8.5 9/9.5 26.0/26.5 305 9/9.5 10/10.5 27.0/27.5 315 10.0/10.5 28.0/28.5 325 11.0/11.5 29.0/29.5 335 12.0/12.5 30.0/30.5 345 13.0/13.5 31.0/31.5 355 14.0/14.5 32.0/32.5 365

Ouuuuch. Tough guy.

I also wear a 14 shoe, 14 1/2 sneaker and a 31 shell, with my foot measuring 30.8 mm. It's a comfy fit. I suspect Greg has a 'performance' fit, and I suspect his skiing would back that up.

a 30/30.5 is technically a 12/12.5... but as mentioned, most skiers prefer a more performance oriented fit which would be a smaller size. The Head website is correct about sizing (shocker, the manufacturer knows something about what it makes) the .5 sizes are the same shell AND liner, they only exist because folks demand "1/2 sizes"... so they put half size stickers on 'em.

Tough, not so much. Skiing, good but don't measure with a lot of folks that hang here. Last two years, now in 29 shells. Shell size varies, BSL is a little more reliable and it's all about actual shell fit in the hands of a capable "fitter."
