5'10" 185-195 lb skier.
I am an advanced skier, but not expert. My favorite runs are to absolutely scream down groomers, but I also enjoy and spend about 40% of my time off piste in back bowls etc. Try to only spend 20% or less of my time in moguls. I ski bumps when soft, or if that is what we are dealing with in the back bowls.
I now only ski 10 or so days out west in a given season. Ski the big michigan resorts in the UP and Boyne otherwise (which is all groomers).
Skiied last week out west on some 2009 Head Monster 82's 172 cm.
Enjoyed them when my legs were fresh and in the bowls and when I was screaming the groomers. But, as my legs grew tired, I found they were a bit more than I was looking for. I was skiing a bit sloppy and felt these skis amplified that slop.
So, if I were looking for a ski that I would say was even 1/2 step down or slightly more forgiving than the 2009 Monster 82's... any suggestions?
Don't get me wrong, when fresh and in the bowls they were great. But if I could find a ski that did that or close, but was just a bit easier to handle when tired... that would be great.
