It is aftermarket but having just come from a light tan cloth interior I want the easier maintenance and better looks of leather and am willing to pay for it. It sucks that Subaru doesn't offer the 6sp in the Limited which has the leather, dual zone and a few other niceties. But mine will be nice enough.

Had leather in the last ski vehicle. (Trooper LS) with two kids that are now 7 and 8.  Leather is mos def more bomb proof (and puke proof) than cloth.  I actually avoided the sun roof/moon roof thinking it would just be showing the bottom of a ski box and bike racks all the time.  I think the car I picked was the only Forester on the lot without one.  Sometimes I miss it when camping though..
