Tahoe Feb 19-24 Hanging With Phil and TC

So I spent a few great days with old friends in their new awesome home. It was great to see the new digs and catch up on things over some great skiing a couple of beers and some sushi too.  Tahoe area is just beautiful; it offers so much all within such close proximity. Truly a great place and I hope to get back soon.  Thanks for the hospitality friendship and for sharing Ziggy

I also got the chance to check out Start Haus and meet the infamous "Jims"; Both Sierra and Starthaus Jims are great guys an so knowledgeable. I appreciated them allowing me to hangout and watch them and Phil punch, stretch and grind boots into perfection.  The staff there is serious. These guys know their stuff for sure. I learned a lot just hanging out. Everyone there works like a well-oiled machine in organized chaos during the peak insanity hours of 3pm till close and then after. I was amazed how every customer was treated with the upmost care and attention; even when the doors should have been closed for the day. SierraJim had me trying on some Dodge boots- not for me but a really cool boot.  Here's SierraJim with my new favorite everydayer... Its Bonafide...

TC had to work so I spent some quality time with Phil skiing up at Alpine Meadows, Sugar Bowl and North Star. Alpine and Sugar have great steeps and some serious terrain while North Star is a bit mellow but has some fantastic trees that reminded me of Steamboat. It doesn't have to be steep to be great. It was great making some turns again with Phil and I appreciated his skills as a guide to some really sweet lines!  The last day TC was able to make it and she ran into Lisa and Andrew (don't know EPIC names) at the mid mtn lodge. Small world! Fun day and lots of laughs.

Here are some pics.

The rewards of a good day of steeps and laughs..

Nice pics.  Looks at those gorgeous blue skies!  So thoughts on the Bonafide?  Gonna post up a review?  I think that's my one must-demo for the '12 gear, from what I've read so far.

Yeah, we just had one grey-bird uber flat light AM (see pic of phil in chute) but otherwise, spectacular.  I didn't get to actually ski the Bone, I skied the Cochise and was blown away, the Bone is in the same family with similar build out and based on just fondling and rave reviews from Phil, Sierra and Dawg, I am on board.
