Summary (inc. Strengths & Weaknesses):
Strengths: Stable, quick, good edge hold, light underfoot, hooks up easily, good at changing turn shape. Fairly stiff but skis easy.
This is an excellent resort ski. Very versitile, a nod towards more firmer or tracked snow. did not test in powder.
Cons: none really for the ski's intended purpose.
Bottom Line: this is an excellent ski- Demoed the Sentinel from Start Haus and skied it at Alpine Meadows in tracked but chalky snow. Some early rise and flat tail. Side wall construction. fairly light. Moderately stiff, definitely in the hunt for Mantra market share, but not as stiff. This is a great resort ski. It absolutely rails on groomers, super stable, very easy to ski, capable of changing TR easily. Very quick. Not overly damp but will stick to the snow. I loved this ski in the bumps. We had it up on Scotts and over off Summit on the traverses into the bowl areas. It was very stable in crud, broken and steep chalky lines. If you are in the hunt for a 90 something ski, I would strongly recommend you putting this one on the list.
