Hey Bears,

Anybody know a good place to rent demo skis in Lake Tahoe?  I will be staying close to Kirkwood.  Any help would be much appreciated.

If you are flying into Reno/Tahoe airport my shop is in the Grand Sierra Resort hotel right near the airport and we have demo skis from Blizzard and Elan if interested?  We offer multiple day discounts and keep our skis in perfect condition.  775 323-9463

How important is having all wheel drive/ SUV in Tahoe?

depends if you're driving from Frisco or Reno - the pass from South Lake Tahoe to Reno is pretty high and if you're trying to make a flight I'd want all wheel drive...

as for ski rentals, there are a ton of shops around South Lake Tahoe... I'd go for the best skis with sharp edges - it does get hardpack there at times, and dull edges suck.
