What! Too much snow for Downhill?

Rocky Mountain Masters has a speed weekend of 2 SGs and 2 DHs on Racer's Edge at Tiehack (Buttermilk) every year. This year we had the 2 SGs on Saturday and while we drove home through rain pondered the likelihood of DH training the following day. Well, there were 8 - 12 inches of new snow and no chances of having the training. So back go the long boards and out come the wide boards.

My 21 yo friend Johnny just picked up a GoPro HD and we put it to work. I put Johnny to work trying to keep up.

(Johnny thought he'd turned off the cam. Doh!)

You must know Scotty Nichols, great guy!   That's the most people I've ever seen a Tiehack on a powder day!

That was Scotty on the 'doo in the first video. You can see how 'busy' it was from the views under the lifts. We skied until we were sated then left the pow for others. There were (practically) more hikers than skiers.

I see him a lot, but I don't get to ski with him as much as I used too!  We did an epic trip to South America back in the early 90's.

  Hiking Buttermilk is MILF central!
