Heh. Interesting question. Okay, here are my top three:
1. Finding reliable BC partners: skiing in the BC is a group activity and falling in with a reliable crew is crucial. A crew of 3 or more is best because when one member decides to p****y out at the last minute it doesn't hose the entire outing.
2. Bootpacking up the skin track: This pisses me off to no end. No, I'm not talking about a snowshoeing snowboarder, I can almost deal with that. I'm talking idiot up to the nads postholers going right up the skin track. Why??!?!?
3. That I don't have a sled. 'nuff said.
Granted, I am based in CB so I don't have the normal high traffic crap that you I-70 folks have to deal with. I do have to say, every time some front range idiot gets caught in a slide on Berthoud or Loveland without any avy gear or training, I get a shitstorm of calls from friends and family (mom) urging me to avoid BC travel.
