Comparison Atomic Century and Rossi S7's

Thread Starter

It's 3:17 am here and seen as I can't sleep...decided to get up and google comparison these 2 skis!!  Wish I could say I was dreaming about these 2 skis...but luckily I found this site and valuable comments about my dilemma.

Been borrowing/demo-ing a friend's Rossi S7's 166 length for several days now and LOVE them;  I can't imagine loving skis more than these!! I have skied them on everything; powder (we've been blessed here at Red Mountain this past week), ski touring, hard-packed, steeps, trees (tight trees), crud, chopped up powder, warmed up crud with some icy conditions underneath, groomers and they performed very well, shockingly well.  My kids say I look like a hero!!  Easy to turn, lively, fun. Effortless!!!  Float beautifully in 12 cm of powder.

The dilemma: A friend just bought the Atomic Century's 176 length and she loves them too.  Haven't had a chance to demo this ski (there are no demo's to be found in our neck of the woods). Would love to demo hers, but she hasn't offered! and we are like Mutt and Jeff; she's 5' 9' 150 lbs and I'm 5' 3" 120 lbs, so they wouldn't really do me any good.  Like the price point on the Atomics and for touring I'd like the straight traditional tail more when putting on skins...and yes I like the girlie graphics on the Century's much more, but not a deal breaker in getting the S7's.

The only drawback I can see to the S7's is the rockered tail design. When putting on skins I found it challenging and time consuming but I suppose I would get used to that.  The skins held fine though and I had no issues with them slipping off.

That's my 2 cents.  Still undecided.  Would love to demo the Century's and be sure!

Thanks for the thread!!

The S7 is 10mm widere at 110mm waist.

The full rocker shape makes for less contact area for ski to snow when skinning. The Century only has a rocker in front, and shares the same shape with the touring catergory Charger model. Both are based on the Access.
