How about a little NASTAR help from the big guns here?

As you may (or may not) know, there is a group of members of EpicSki community that belong to EpicSki Bears NASTAR family/friends team. Most of us find this amusing in many ways, and most of us enjoy seeing the Team among the best in the Nation.

Last year the Team ended at the historically highest 16th place out of over 4000 teams, and this year we are currently 15th out of over 3500. The season is still long, and I am sure that the Team will improve the standing as it is in the end, but these days we might use some help from the big guns here. If you happen to feel in the "Midget Jello Wrestling" ;) mode one of these  days, give us some help. We may need only two more racers in the range of 9.70 team points (about 4 handicap or below, depending on your category) to get us to the very top of the list.

Did I already mention that you might have some fun in the process?

Go Bears.

Most of the ringers I know here are already signed up.  I might see one this Saturday.   If I do I'll egg him on to take some more runs for us.  We'll need it after I finish stinking up da jointredface.gif  Forecast is for rain Saturdaynonono2.gif

I will try to bring the heat at Schweitzer during lunch at the Masters GS.

I'm no 4 handicapper but I'll run the NASTAR course at Steamboat tomorrow. I should be able to get a platinum if I run like last year. I'll probably run it for a bunch of runs in the morning before it softens up too much.

Well, I couldn't pick off a platinum. I needed to shave another 1/2 a second and ran out of time as the course got sunbaked and slower. Oh well, I got some gate practice in and had fun. Billy Kidd was hanging out at the NASTAR course encouraging the kids. That guy is a class act. I almost didn't recognize him in a race helmet.

Well, I'm the opposite of a big gun --  I'm 68, so my handicap must be about 175, but I did get a bronze at Taos last week. If that can be of any help I'll look up the data on the Nastar site and send it along. I may already be registered as an Epicski family member.

I was able to throw a 2 handicap down for you guys at Copper. I believe you should now be top 10! Boo Ya!

You mean, "I believe WE..." smile.gif

Happy racing, Luke! You are lucky, the season is over for me.

I didn't get to run this season.  Busted my ass to hit the road running at 5am.  Made it to my usual NASTAR run joint in PA with plenty of time to get an early run only to find they decided at the last moment to cancel NASTAR that weekend due to a big air competition on the neighboring runhopmad.gif

Hopefully next year I will be able to bump up some more points.

Had a great time at NASTAR Nationals.  Definitely want to improve and move up to a higher medal category next year.

This was my 7th trip to the Big Dance.  The experience just gets better every year.   I put together a short video to give you a little flavor of what to expect if you join us next year.

Thanks for sharing, looks fantastic! Wish I could go -- maybe next year.

Now, what is your price to switch teams? wink.gif

I'm flattered but I'm afraid I committed a long time ago to my Family/Friends Team, Resort Team, and Club Team.  Mt. Southington wanted me to switch Resort Team affiliation to their team.  I'm the NASTAR Coordinator and Pacesetter at Okemo.  I'd lose my job! mad.gif

Unfortunately, No Nastar here!

Closest place I believe is Mt. Bachelor. almost a 6 hour drive!
