Hi im kinda new here but i was wondering what length ski i should get i am buying the armada ar7.  I am an intermediate skier who skis about 60% park, 40% all mountain. I can do 3s off smaller jumps nothing huge and i can do smaller rails and boxes.  l am not the greatest all mountain skiier but i am improving i can do all trails easily at my local mountain on the east coast but i dont have the best form.  I am 6 feet tall, and weigh 160-165 pounds

My gut would say mid 170's at a minimum. I like my skis to be on the long side so I'd head into the 180's but i have 25 pounds on you. But a mid 170's something won't do you wrong. As long as you are looking at Armadas, also consider the Alpha 1. Had a chance to play with those last year and liked very very much. AR7 is a good ski too.

I don;t know squat about the armadas, but seems you want something said...

1. if not already done, do a search on epic for the 'armada ar7 and see what others say...

quick growth spurt to 6 ft and 165 - likely you'll gain a little more...

176 will be easier to spin in the park

181 will prolly suit rippin up a big mtn

I don;t imagine either would be unsuitable for either function

but then I'm not tellin you anything you'll prolly wouldn't figure out yourself...

one thing though - a Twin Tip will always ski 'shorter' than a std tail ski of the same size - always less effective edge length (takin into account similar shape and flex characteristics)

For example

my Fischer Cold Heats (flat tail) - 176 cm - 152 cm effective base/edge length

my Rossi Sick Birds (twinT) - 185 cm - 150 cm effective base/edge length

Skiis are going in so many directions now I'll refuse to suggest a length.

Personally I've good good skis from 150cm to 205cm and in between.

'meh, it is 6 of one, half dozen of the other. We're talking about 4 cm. Don't believe the AR 7 has any rocker. But it is a twin so it will ski a little shorter. You're probably going to put on some more pounds in the coming years so I guess if I were you I'd get the 181. But I like a longer ski. If you are more park focused then get the 176.

But if I were really you I would get the Alpha 1 in a 182 and be blissfully happy.

Seriously, you can't go wrong with any of those mixes and matches.
