I currently am skiing in a 27.5 HEAD Raptor LTD boot (98mm last/115 flex). I am 5'7" 180. I don't necessarily think the flex is too soft, however on the hill my foot feel like there is quite a bit of room (quite a bit more than I'd like while racing or aggressively carving).
NOTE: Shell fit length-wise is fine (can fit sharpie marker/tight finger behind heel), so that's not the problem. The problem is that there feels like there is a good deal of vertical room in the boot that completely-buckled fourth buckle doesn't help. The third buckle I can't go any tighter because that bone on top of the foot is rather large in me. I just need a tighter fit elsewhere around the foot.
Would I be well-suited to buy an "RD" (95mm last) in the same line, or is there something I could put on the bootboard to "lift" the foot so it is more snug. Also, are there any brands that suit well to "wide, flat feet"?? (in the words of a bootfitter describing my feet).
Please also note: I cannot go any higher in the heel... just putting in a superfeet footbed already raised the heel, and I had to get the heel punched out on one boot.
