I have had a very mixed bag in terms of food quality in VT, the newer and recently renovated places I feel are fair value. Pricey but not ridiculous. For example, lunch at Okemo's Jackson Gore, Stowe's Spruce Peak, or SUgarbush is on the high side, but for what you get, I'm happy.
In contrast, Stowe's Mansfield base, Okemo's main base, all of the lodges at Killington, are horribly overpriced (no WC mentions as its been too long since I flew out). They charge virtually the same as the newer ones but the quality of food is inferior to an Elementary School cafeteria. Don't believe me? Those of you on the EC, try out both the newer and older lodges at Okemo or Stowe next time you are there and see if you don't agree - food quality / price.
