I'm looking at buying some K2 Omnisport skis at 174 cm with Tyrolia SP 100 bindings. I am a recreational skier on the east coast, and I almost always rent skis. I'm tired of paying for rentals on trips when I can more than likely get a set of skis for comparable prices, especially when I go moderately often. I don't want to invest too much money in them because I am a graduate student, and thus have no money. I'm 6'2" and somewhere in the vicinity of 210 pounds, and I'd call myself an intermediate skier. Do you think these skis would serve their purpose for annual/biannual ski trips?

And before you buy skis, buy boots that actually fit your feet instead of someone else's feet. Properly fitting boots make any ski more enjoyable. Go to the "Ask the Boot Guys" forum and read the wikis about boot fitting and the list of fitters to find one close to you.
