What brand/last width is a good bet for a size US12/13, A-width foot?

Moving to Eastern Canada last year from Australia, I decided to take up skiing again after 15 years. I went out in November last year and bought myself some Rossignol Synergy Sensor 80s. They started out okay, but as the winter has progressed and my skiing has gotten better I have realised that at 102mm in the forefoot they are way too wide – my foots swims in them. I must have at least half a centimetre each side of my foot.

I went to a local store and told the bootfitter my problem and he suggested the Tecnica Inferno Blaze, which I tried on and liked straightaway. Problem is that I didn’t 100% trust the bootfitter and I haven’t been able to find a place that sells the same boots.

There’s another store about a 2 hour drive away that has a great reputation and stocks Lange, Tecnica (but only Dragon and Phoenix styles), Rossignol and Fischer. I gave them a call and they said they should have plenty of boots that fit me.

Before driving that far (and shelling out yet more $$$ for boots), I want to make sure they are likely to have boots that fit as well as those Tecnica Inferno Blazes fit me...

I am 190cms tall, 85kgs, size US 12/13 feet, A-width, and at the intermediate level aiming to progress to advanced by the middle of next season.

Any advice you can offer would be very much appreciated.

don't worry about brand everybody makes 98mm shells which are good for feet down to C width and must unfortunately also be used by A width as that is as narrow as recreational boots come.

Except for one exception.  At least in Canada and probably elsewhere Dalbello will make available at select shops next year 95mm boots with a recreational flex.  Search out one of those shops in your area.

Thanks Lou, I really appreciate that! I'll hold off until next year and get the right boot. Thanks again.

Lange makes a 92mm boot. however not any shots carry it. The reps have samples that they like to unload at the end of the year to ski shops. You shud go to your shops and ask them to call their reps to drop of samples to try on for you. They may have a 29.5. Maybe...

I would go to a bootfitter and have them KNOW what boot to order for your for next season in your size. There would be little obligation, they need 1 of those boots in stock for walkins like yourself...

Thanks for that. I am going to have a chat with a bootfitter this weekend who specializes in Lange and will see how I go.

I've been wrong before but am still unaware of any boot narrower than a 98mm that comes in a flex I'd sell to an intermediate skier your size.  Every 95 and 92 I am aware of is a minimum of 130 flex.  I'd recommend going softer.
