I've always used the same brushes for waxing (I limit my Swix wax choices for either a CH or LF product).
I was told today that I should change my brushes and brushing technique depending on the weather and that there are brushes that are better suited for cold, normal and warm weather and that the brush used is more important that picking the right wax.
I was told that for racing,
- use a horeshair brush for cold weather and brush from tip to tail;
- use a nylon brush and brush from tip to tail for normal weather; and,
- use a brass brush and brush at a 45 degree angle for warm weather to create more base structure.
Is this good advice or just extra work?
