I thought the Jeff Spicoli revolutionary war quote would at least get a chuckle from a GrizzledVeteran, you appear to have a truncated sense of humor.
You have also shown seriously bad form in 'calling out' Bob Peters. I'm sure my opinion means absolutely nothing to you, but Bob (I have never met the man, only know him from his posts here) is the ONE person who posts on any ski forum that, if I posted an opinion and he disagreed with me... I'd go back and try to figure out how and why I was wrong. I say that because he is always remarkably level headed, open, considerate and genuine. As I said, I don't know him personally but I have tremendous respect for. I'm sure you could care less, but I do not think I am alone in my feelings about Bob here on Epicski. You picked the wrong poster to pick-on in this idiotic thread.
(talk all the sh*t you want about me, heck I'll agree with half of it and more than a few will agree with all of it.)
I am talking about Bob Peters' displayed attitude in this thread, and his obviously stated connection to JHMR via real estate sales.
He may be the most gracious gentleman in all of Tamriel for all I know. Some of you commenting in this thread have defended him expressively, so he must impress at least a few of you that way.
But if he's got a business stake in JHMR, he's going to have a stake in defending JHMR's acts, and/or avoiding having to explain those acts to people who are possible house/condo buyers. So Flick pisses off Mr Peters because he's a "stain" (or similar) on JHMR or on the possibility of selling real estate, especially to people from elsewhere, tourons and gomers, who love living in a command-control society or town or system.
Obviously Dr Flick's acts have divided people here at EpicSki, into two factions:
1) RESPECT MAH AUTHORITEH!
2) Maybe the old dude just wanted some exercise.
I find this division amusing (to use Mr Peters' condescending and dismissive phrase toward me, now in reverse) because it's all about Flick's supposed disrespect for AUTHORITEH!
Nobody, yet, has said why it's more dangerous than a snowboarder on her behind mid-run below a rise or blind corner.
Nobody, yet, has said why "authority" always must be respected.
Which really makes me wonder how EpicSki people define skiing, or life.
I've always thought of a lift-served ski hill as a place where they run lifts for me to access terrain. I don't expect them to provide me with "customer service", I don't want a coddled experience. I just want to ride lifts to get back uphill. I don't need them to groom, to mark "DANGER!", to tell me I can't ski something, or to tell me I have to "slow down" because some gomer from South Carolina, on vacation pretending to "ski," was scared by my velocity.
Apparently most of you want a gulag, which would explain why several of you think I'm ...nucking futs.
